The article presents the results of an empirical study aimed at identifying the features of a healthy lifestyle culture among primary school children with mental retardation. The article reveals the features of the formation of a conscious and responsible attitude towards health among primary school children with mental retardation. The main components of a healthy lifestyle culture are analyzed, and the methods of their empirical study are reviewed. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of the diagnostic results is conducted, and the needs of children with mental retardation in developing skills and attitudes that promote a healthy lifestyle are identified.
